Heart's whisper
For a long time since my college days until I decided to call it a day as a Techie, I was lost in the world's demand where I kept feeling like a fish out of water. But in my heart's quiet chamber, in the moments of death like stillness, a whisper constantly rippled, it was like a gentle call of the wind, a soothing breeze. Yes, I was lost, but I was also found!
Why is that most of us don't pay heed to the heart's whisper, the inner voice? Why don’t we pursue what we really love, and in case unknown, why not at least try and find out what is it that we love? Why despite having heard from true achievers that one needs to follow heart, we never take a step towards it? Why do we keep coming up with new excuses to stay away from the adventure? Because, deep down, it’s the fear of failure, the fear of disappointment, the fear of looking ridiculous that stops us from being courageous to stand up for what we really want to become. It doesn't help the cause either to have your self worth based on how others perceive you rather than how you perceive yourself! It’s time to drop those fears and abandon dogmatic life, should you want to excel beyond imagination.
We should exercise our multiple inclinations until we hit one that allows us to create in depth expression of our talent with joy, and that would be one’s passion! It’s like the wanderer of the desert finally landing up at the oasis. The thirst will be truly quenched! This is the only way that we can make our work lives meaningful, the only way to work and not work simultaneously, the only way to say goodbye to Monday blues, the only way to be mindful in our work, the only way to lead a stress free work life, the only way to have a fulfilling work life, the only way to ensure that our creative juices flow (pun unintended), and the only way to create a beautiful piece of canvas!
My take on the topic sounds 'easier said than done' as long as you want to prove a point (read pointless) to others rather than making your lives exciting by listening to the heart's whisper..
